So I picked my free futon up today from a friend.  Now to make improvements to the one you posted.

 

The catch tray need to be wider IMO.  LOL  That's about it.  I'm also gonna build a roof over it so it doesn't get soaked in the rain.  LOL

you going to weld it or just use slotted angle iron and bolts for the support bracket?

wonder if wrapping them in pipe insulation would make the gap small enough so they don't get stuck

That would make the getting the head stuck issue worse wouldn't it?  LOL

 

Not sure what to do yet.  Its like 245 on my list to do LOL
