got the tub emptied out

and hung up the hides to drain some

there was some fat breakdown but the hair was still pretty intact so I spent several hours working over the worse pieces

Was able to get a much more compact soaking after cleaning them

going to let them set for a couple days and do it again, once I am happy with them I will rinse and switch to lye from lime

Well this project got pushed off over the last couple months, so let's see what we got

Got it tipped over to drain

and proceeded to rinse off the lime the best I could

Laid out the hides one by one

and broke out the pressure washer

works good!

some of the fat was still a little stubborn

So I kept working on the hair sides

I threw them back into a fresh lime solution and will check on them in a week, or a couple of months 🙂
