We forgot to lock our chickens up last fall and woke up to 5 dead birds.  I'm not sure it was the bobcat, but I also am not entirely sure a coon would take all 5 out in one sitting?  We also have 5 outside cats that I'm probably too attached to and sort of worry about a bit more now that I know this thing is just down the pasture.   They're definitely neat creatures!

when I was a kid we had 2 houses. one on the city and one in the "country". the house in the country was about a 2 hour drive from our city house. we would go up there during the weekends and fish and just enjoy nature.

well, one weekend my dad decided to go up there alone. he ran out of gas on one of the long back roads to get to the property. the area was very wooded and this was at dusk. when the sun goes down up there it is extremely dark.

well, my dad decided to leave the car parked where it was and walk to the house. which was probably a mile and a half away. He said that just as the sun was going down he saw a bob cat in the woods. It began to follow him. as the minutes passed by, he kept looking back to see if the cat was still there, it was. when the sun was completely gone, the roads were pitch black. he said he could still hear the cat walking behind him. said it was the most scared he has ever been.

I wouldnt want that thing on my property or around my animals.

I'm not sure whether I posted the picture correctely, but we've confirmed that this bobcat is wearing a tracking collar.  It's apparently been introduced in the area by our local conservation department.  This is the most recent picture and I'm hoping he/she continues to make regular appearances as we love viewing it!

with imgur just paste the link and the forum will auto embed it for you

Luckily we sort if have a natural barrier where it seems to be located.  The creek is wooded,  but if it ever tried to come out closer to the house, it's immediately in wide open space  (hay field and pasture), which I don't think will make it feel totally comfortable coming out, unless it's absolutely necessary.  We also have donkeys, and while they're not dangerous, I think their presence alone would hopefully make a big cat skittish to come up to the coop, BUT then again you just never know.  We're going to have a hand gun on us when we go to the creek, which makes me nervous, but it's better than the alternative I guess.  Your story is definitely creepy and I wouldn't know what I'd do if ever faced by one of these.

The chickens were totally demolished and there were just a few wings/parts left behind.  We'd also spotted a fox (which I haven't seen since), the day before and after the chickens were taken.
