I had the materials delivered and they used some sort of wood from pallets to make 'skids' for the materials to sit on up off the ground or off the truck bed. I just took the ones that would fit and wedged them into the post support holes on our pallet forks. That was one of the reasons I went with the Titan forks -- they have a place to mount upright supports so material doesn't fall back on you. Unfortunately they are *not* a standard 2x4 size -- they are shorter in both directions.

lol, yeah I noticed that yesterday when I was trying to shove a 2x4 into it, my first thought was wwpd?

Haha. I wish I was good with steel or a welder -- I would make some channel fit into the slots that could be bolted down.

that came out really nice, any concern with sparks from the boiler getting on the roof?

Thanks K. I am happy with how it looks.

Not really. The wind doesn't really blow that way and I have never seen sparks come out -- even when I have been burning a lot of cardboard. I will monitor and if necessary increase the chimney stack up another 3 ft section.

So how did it make it through the first winter, anything you would have changed?

Worked great, thanks for asking! I need to do a better job stacking all of our firewood so that I can fit in a whole winters worth. I hung bikes up under the roof and it really cleared out all of the space. The only downside is the location of our boiler -- it limits getting anything in there that is over 5' in width. I would love to be able to park something larger underneath it but it's not in the cards.
