To reach the shop? Just run a hard line ethernet wire with your power wire. 

Now that this shop is built I think you should use this roof for solar instead of the barn. I know that is a tanget... but having an extra ethernet wire would allow you to monitor your solar equipment.

it would be very difficult to get a ethernet to our current router, I could probably put in a split where it comes into the house up in our loft storage area and just drop the cable modem and router there, it currently sits in our media center we built under the island, but it should be an easy work around, I think I have an outlet up there

haven't really done much, my wife has been gone for the last 2 weeks so I've just been puttering around the yard, she should be back next Sunday so we should get back on it then
