This is why some building codes may be a good idea.

I have been guilty of a few, but the cement bags work if done right!

I had a P trap that rusted through...I was selling the house and had no time to fix it (alright, I didn't give a darn about it)...I used a roll of electrical tape on it...You could not miss it, unless you didn't look...the Inspector said something to the effect that the plumbing drains were okay...sharp boy.

Nah...sold the house to a group of investors...they were greedy...but they had the cash and I needed to move on...My first house I got sued in small claims 3 times...1) when the water heater went after they had been in there for 6 months  2) when the well went dry in a hot summer (they had 7 people and 3 dogs in there and they were constantly filling the kiddie pools, thankfully I had the full FHA water inspection paper work that cleared me..btw, HUD was a major pain to deal with, I will never deal with them again)  and 3) for me taking the water softener system when I moved...I removed the softener before I even listed the house...I stored it in my barn...they thought they were entitled to it...I won all three cases.  What a pain they were, there dogs were constantly harassing cyclist and traffic and on my land (we got 1 put down after it's third documented attack).  Glad when they moved.

when my wife and I first got married we bought a rundown trailer for 400 dollars, fixed it up some and flipped it for 2500, got a letter from the woman who bought it a few months later saying she was suing me because the furnace crapped the bed and I had told her it had been inspected and maintained. I called her and asked her what was the issue, she replied that the company who was replacing the furnace said it looked like it hadn't been inspected in years. So I went over and pulled the face off the furnace and showed her the maintenance log on the inside of it, never heard from her again.

I've definitely got a light within a few inches of a shower head in the new bathroom. It's rated for "wet area" so we'll see if they catch it. Probably could have spaced that one out better.
