My upstairs neighbor seems to have an unsual schedule. This means he can be walking in the appartment in the middle of the night or talking on the phone at 1am. He is not being outstandingly loud, but at night everything else is quiet so i only hear that.

I can hear him, not super loud, but just enough that i can hear him at night when all else is quiet. Just enough so that sometimes it bothers my sleep.

Do you have any suggestions on what i can do to help soundproof the ceiling in my bedroom?

Anything that would be cheap would be best since i don't own the place.

I have heard the bottom of egg cartons work pretty good.

Although this says otherwise to a degree.

As a public service announcement, everyone should google Station Nightclub fire and read about it and watch the videos.  It's a real eye opener about being in crowded public places when SHTF.  I ALWAYS look for the exits, etc and have a plan in my head.

Not to hijack the thread, the most horrifying thing about the videos/facts about the Station was the people stacked like cordwood stuck in the doors.
