Agreed in the chase. The building that I'm studying in right now has one that runs the length of the building. That's where they run their networking cables and any auxiliary lines they need for events.

Any plan for staining the strip where the wall was? Is it easy to tie into the existing stain?/color match

not really, there is so much fading in different areas and since it is still basically raw cement from the day we poured I think if we restained the floors it would not look right, we are looking into installing laminate throughout the whole space if and when we remove the island

I love laminate, quick, cost effective and looks decent...just worried about the off gassing...How do you really know what is safe when you buy the stuff???

he built in a trash can holder

and built doors for the rest of the cabinets

so after hunting for a stain that would match we got it all stained up

a pretty close match

today we have to get it mounted, add some filler strips and hang the doors
