got everything set up with smithy to pick up the mill next week and to swap it out with a separate lathe and mill, they are sending a 12x37 lathe

I wanted their MI 409 mill

but due to shipping issues with China they have no clue when they will be in, So I asked if they had any used Machines, that's basically what they are going to do with the granite I am sending back, they didn't have an MI 409 but they did have an lx 329 which is the previous model of the 409, exact same mill but just has a slightly smaller table, they are giving me a good discount on it and it will still come with the 2 year warranty and tooling package. Even has power feed on all 3 axises.

Nice! I would think that the power feed would come in handy in the event that you decide to do a CNC conversion.

Haha fun right? Look for some tables and that'll help a lot. The problem is you're usually not doing a production run where threading on a lathe is required so you only do it once every few years after you've forgotten and have to re-learn how it's done.

Yeah, you could see most of the class just check out mentally when he started talking about the three wire method for measuring to make sure you are between the minimum and maximum threshold,
