They were OK. I expected more flavor. I used light brown sugar instead of dark since that's what I had on hand. Not sure if it would make much of a difference.

wonder how honey would be instead of brown sugar, or maple syrup, everything goes good with maple syrup

well, now I have to take back what I said. Everyone loved them and was raving about the flavor. The one I tried when I took them out of the oven must not have gotten a good dusting with the seasoning. They were really good and all got eaten pretty quickly.
I agree, K, that a little honey or maple syrup would kick it up a notch, too!
