The best book I have ever found on blacksmithing. Seriously, the very best. Nothing is left out in this book. Lots of projects explained so a homesteader can make hinges, nails, tongs, wrought iron gates etc. I have a forge but if I was going to make a new one I would make a side pipe forge. Which just happens to have building instructions in the book along with half a dozen other forge designs. With the amount of toxins in this trade I would recommend going with a propane forge, which is easy to make but much safer for a beginner to control and operate safely.

The following users say thank you to Hessian for this useful post:

My thoughts was wood, storage and foundry/blacksmith area, was planning having everything on wheels, that way I can roll everything out of the way to the sides when I want to drive through or run the animals up the driveway to trailer them

I found some interesting videos on the blacksmithing subject. I don't know much about it, so I'm not sure of the quality, but they seem to be similar to videos posted around here.

thanks, hadn't seen those ones, Wranglestar puts out some great videos

Huge upgrade from the Case. I like it! No mowing deck, however, so be prepared for that. Mowing decks can be expensive to source separately.

4x4, manual steering, strong lift on the back, and hydrostatic. That's a pretty good list.

That one has turf tires -- which most prefer. They are better in the snow and don't tear up grass. Mine came with R4 industrial tires -- a mix between ag's and turfs. I most likely would have preferred turfs but I took what I could get. If you could get that for $6500 you would be a baller.
