so I started cutting into the woods the other day, I had two options, where we had cleared out with the excavator which would take more fill but no cutting, or cutting through a fresh patch with the chainsaw. I chose option A and spent over a day wasting my time, the ruts from the excavator were a mud pit and was making things quite the pain

so last night I went with option B

My nephew and I were cutting as my brother hauled, we laid the cut trees down across the road and just skimmed them with the ledge

got quite a bit done, hope to finish it up in the next couple days so I can install fencing this weekend and let the boys out to graze

with the new pups we had to finish puppy proofing the fenced in area, so we ripped down the old crappy wire fence that I stoved in this past winter

and replaced it with new sturdier 4x2 wire

we hauled in more mulch so they can't get under the gazebo

and closed off the end section by the barn

now they can run free

We had taken down the fencing to move the boys but had to put it back due to the frenchies going after the ducks and onto the pond, not sure how we are going to deal with this in the spring, I don't want that up year round now that the boys are gone.

Do you think the frenchies will learn to live with the ducks? Maybe the ducks will hang up on them and scare them as pups so they won't go after them in the future?

I don't know, bigger concern is frenchies don't swim very well, they sink like rocks.

Had to add a gate to the side shed, the frenchies like to go on a run every now and then, need to come up with something a little better in the spring.

I should invest in gate manufacturers.

Is the ladder on the right just laying there? or part of the fence?  (just seeing how red neck you are)

lol, it's to brace the bottom so the puppies don't push through it.
