That is happening in some areas in WV too. 

Here you have to have $1000.00 of production for farm assessment. But you don't have to have it in sales. It can be for your own consumption. 

Eastern WV is pretty much a bedroom for DC these days

Hopefully this weekend we'll be scouting out properties in the western half of Virginia (Harrisonburg area) for a potential move in 2015!

Be sure to look into fracking and pipeline possibilities. So far it seems that the fracking is staying west of the blue ridge.
