Need help finding a way to get internet out here in the sticks. | General Homesteading Discussion | Forums

Hello, I am in search of finding a way to get a good ISP for us out here in the middle of nowhere...

I don't exactly live on a ranch but I will live in area that is considered "farm lands" because a few miles down the road is literary lands used by farms... Really big lands, and while we don't live there yet... I am dreading the moment of actually moving now... It's funny because when I originally thought about it I was really happy and excited. Since I actually like privacy and fresh open air found in these areas...

The problem is... I just found out that we may not get that much internet if any at all... at measly 7mbps... I am not going to be able to do gaming, or watching online videos...

Most of what I like to spend my time is reading, gaming, and watching videos as I live in an area where options for amusement are very small... (I currently live in the suburbs), but I am afraid that won't get better out in the farm lands/country side because there's not much there either...

Long story short is... I want to get good internet, not just barely internet... everything I do is online.... and while my sibling said he spoke to someone from verizon a while back which said that we may get up to 50mbps even that isn't that much. It's not just me that would be using the internet, siblings, and parents would be using it as well...

We live out in the northern part of the east coast(USA).

Today we called again to be sure, but the other representative quoted him that the best they can do for us is 7mbps... which is ridiculous. I don't even think you can load a regular web page on just that alone...  Since most pages now have things that increase the usage... 

Is there anything I can do about my predicament? Any info would be vastly appreciated.
