I want to find a JD or Kubota box and do this... PVC pipe in the concrete, stone, or sand to hold tools.

You can do the same thing with half a 55 gallon drum, a draw bar, and some welding skills. I just think by the time I got there with parts and metal I would be close in price to a used ballast box.

That guy is crazy -- I think they go for that new. 

If I had scrap steel and could weld I would just make one. I think buying the 3 sets of pins (one top and 2 for the sides), concrete, rebar, and the plywood to make the frame would add up.

just talked to local Kubota dealer, they don't have any in stock now but they are ordered. Says they are $252. Cheapest I can find online is here.
