I built a cold frame today. I will probably only use to start plants and fall crops in pots.

What I've done so far is the planning stage for my square foot garden. Working on placement of seed plots and the general layout on paper. I've also started researching chicken breeds, and I'm weighing the pros/cons of a coop versus a chicken tractor. I should get my truck back from the mechanic in about a week or so, then things will start moving faster, once I'm able to gather the supplies needed for the garden beds and the chickens. Basically my "what have I done" so far has been all research, but I figure that enough research will lay a good foundation when I'm able to put my plans into action.

same here. I was thinking about doing a chicken tractor also but I think I will let them free range, thats if my dogs wont go after them. I woke up this morning to this

Today I worked on a room addition at work and was hauling some crap to the dumpster. Looked inside and found 3 windows sections from some tilt out windows. Perfect for laying over tires to warm them up for planting.

I saw the you mentioned a chicken tractor. This is what we built last spring.

We took the design from this book.

This book is good it has some good things to build in it. We have built a few things from it.

Very cool Al, I've got the same book in pdf format. How many chickens do you keep in the tractor?
