Found your site a few days ago, really like it.
I have 44 Acres in South west Louisiana and i am interested in self sufficient living, especially building a house myself with recycled materials. Any suggestions and or pointers would be great!

Well this is a tricky one being in the flat lands, i would like a Tiny home but i do have a sizable family. I have looked into the Container homes also. The humidity could cause a problem for a cabin from what i understand.
I really would like something efficient (as we all do) and affordable. Main objective is, recycled materials and efficiency and large enough for my family.

hmm, I wonder if something like this would work for you, you can utilize tiny home principles while maintaining room for your family

nice, I always loved that design, hope it works out for you, the nice thing about it as well is that you can do it in stages as money allows or the family grows, if you want to share your project, you can start a thread in the construction sub forum

Went to the web site and it is just perfect! It is something that has a central point for the family and like you said easy to expand on. I am in the middle of the Indian Ocean right now but, already have the rough draft going i will do my best to keep you posted!
Man you nailed this one. I have seen homes similar to this idea in Venezuela with a open central point and i liked them but wasn't what i wanted these are just awesome!
