Thanks for asking.

Having a bigger property with an endless to-do list was an interesting experience that I found to be an interesting catch 22. The allure of a simpler life and being more self reliant was originally a major driver. But then I quickly had a realization that I actually needed money more than ever before because of the amount work needing attention with new tools, supplies etc. At least my small house in town had very little to take care of or very little space for projects that required money. The entire time I lived in the country I was never bored because I always had something needing my attention at some level or another.

So I would like to try this again but with more financial independence and time to work on things of my choosing. I just hope I am still young enough to to be able to enjoy them when this happens. ( this concept steals a considerable amount of my attention, trying to plot and plan a strategy)

The goats were a huge learning experience for me. Most Americans have a huge disconnect from their food. I truly appreciated the process and it was sooo much harder to bring them to butcher than I had anticipated. (although I did accidentally schedule the processing of my goats I had raised from babies on the same day as signing the house over to her etc. )

I was very sick around christmas. (flu) I had a very high temperature and was borderline hallucinating but still had to walk through a few feet of snow and wind in the dark to feed the poor bastards. They were happy to see me as always. I would consider that a character building experience.

I just bought a 1/4 beef and 1/2 a lamb off a local farmer for my new freezer.

Goats are incredible animals that I would like to have again, Although I dont think the meat is enjoyable enough to justify.

Yeah, I'd like to say it get's easier but it is something I struggle with as well.
