My wife says no.
We have a 2007 fj cruiser, 112,000 miles, good shape, been paid off for years.
Happened to see a new Jeep cherokee the other day and damn I like them.
When we got the FJ it was right before they started adding all the safety features, navigation, etc.
Cherokee has side and roof airbags, back up camera, navigation, etc.
FJ's hold their value well and dealer would give us about 11,000 in trade in which is accurate according to kelly blue book so we could get into a brand new cherokee with rebates for 12,000 to 14,000 depending on added features..
Payment would be low 200's.
Wife hates debt.
My argument is we have an almost 10 year old vehicle with over 100,000 miles with a decent value. Get out before things start going bad or it drops in value more.
Wat do?

I hate car payments... I mean, your call, but I if the FJ is still running good, I'd day drive it and start putting away money for when you do need to replace it down the road. Besides... Jeeps these days are not really "Jeeps"; just another sh!tty Chrysler product with a name tag. 🙂

Yeah, I hate car payments, the dealer told me to take it for the weekend 🙁
the one I originally was looking at was only front wheel drive, they had this trailhawk sitting right next to it

So, my wife and daughter went down to PA for two weeks and I went down to pick them up in Boston this past Sunday and the muffler fell off after picking them up, then the maintenance light came on, then we found out we needed new tires.
Needless to say the FJ is going away, wife and I decided we needed a pickup since our silverado that my dad drives isn't doing so well these days. I wanted a trail boss in black.
and that has consumed my whole week.

Yeah, but that's not it! Chevy dealer totally jerked me around and ticked me off so I decided instead to get a gmc canyon all terrain and make my own version, it's actually cheaper! Will look like this, but newsettler and I are going to blacken out all the chrome with plasti dip.
trying to figure out how to get this to work with the roll bar
