Fall bow opened in NJ on saturday. I went out yesterday morning and got a button buck to fill my antlerless tag. Can't wait to pick it up from the butcher. Anyone else going out this season?

My friends who hunt will bring me what I need. I just can't take a live these days.

I have no problem with butchering, in fact I really like that part.

But I just can't take the life.

I Don't even like pulling my root veggies out of the ground.

Silly huh.

looked out the backyard this morning and saw three deer down in the corner, I think it was momma and her two offspring, one of the offspring got stuck behind our fencing, she finally got out and then ran right back our 4 wheeler trail, you can see the big doe right at the corner of the fence in the trees, she was huge

he hit a bambi and it laid dying in the ditch, he was told he could not shoot it to put it out of it's misery, so he had to see there and watch it suffer, what a load of crap

That's BS; I had the same thing happen a few years ago up in Newaygo county. We were driving back to deer camp from a hunt on state land, and the teenage girl in front of us hit a doe, and the thing was crippled on its back quarters. Obviously, we had our guns in the truck, but the trooper said we couldn't shoot it to put it out of its misery and that he wouldn't shoot it either. My hunting buddy and I ended up pulling the poor thing off the road and into the ditch and cutting its throat; it felt kind of barbaric but so did the idea of leaving it to die slowly as it tried to drag itself around on its front quarters.

Newsettler, I am glad you are alright at least.
