Here is a cast iron pizza recipe you can make at home for a fraction of the cost of eating out. So I grabbed some supplies out of the pantry. You can choose whatever favorite ingredients you like. Please though, no anchovies.
I dumped in 2.5 cups of flour and some yeast into a bowl
and a couple tablespoons of olive oil
I took a cup of warm water
and added some yeast and brown sugar to get it activated
after 5 minutes
I dumped it into the bowl and added a little whole wheat flour and mixed it well
I covered it and let it set by the stove to proof a little
I divided the dough into two
and let it proof a little while longer
I formed them back into balls
and oiled up my cast iron with olive oil and set the dough in the pans
after letting it proof a little while, i stretched out the dough to the edges
added some sauce
some cheddar and mozzarella
some pepper and onions
and some pepperoni
and threw them into the oven. Only down side with the wood stove is the oven getting hot enough, we can maintain 375 in it pretty easy, any more than that and it heats us right out of the house. You really want the oven to be 500-550, so this took a little while
eat your heart out pizza hut!
