Here is a simple cast iron pot roast recipe that you can throw together in just a couple minutes. That thread on campfire cooking got me in the mood for some food cooked in the cast iron, so I grabbed some supplies out of the pantry.
and set the roast and the fingerling potatoes in the pot
I sliced up some onion and carrots and set that on top
I sprinkled some old bay and some butter
An added a inch of secret sauce
and set the lid on it and threw it into the wood stove
I started sauteing up some onions
and chopped up some pancetta and threw that into the pan
sprinkled some pepper and garlic
when it was done, I grabbed some shrimp out of the fridge
and mixed the onion mixture in with it into a bread pan
I crumbled some ritz crackers and parmesan cheese on top and squeezed two lemons over it
and threw that into the oven as well
a hour or so later, it was done
a little fresh horseradish, and we were good to go
the answer to are you human is not 5 x seven…nor is the answer to 5 times seven still the answer to am I human. which was the question and answer required to give to leave a reply. what I am ever so grateful for are your amazing delicious recipes that finally I can make using my cast iron pots and pans and I can create edible dishes and breads. thank you for the easy to use recipes!
While I really like your recipes, you never mention the temperature that you cook these at.
Since we cook in the wood stove, it’s hard to gauge and maintain any certain temp, we try and shoot between 325 and 375 and adjust times according to how hot the stove is, I will try to start giving rough estimates for conventional ovens
