Wonder where the tech would be today
When this report was made there were an estimated 50,000 electric vehicles on the roads of Britain, tho' most were commercial and used for business purposes (milk floats, as an example). Even in 1975, this tiny two-seater car's onboard batteries still provided an ambitious 50 miles on a charge. There were 120 Enfields built, at a rate of one a week on the Isle of Wight by a Greek shipping magnate called John Goulandri but it failed to become established with road users and in 1977 production ceased.
