Pretty inexpensive and it just vents through the wall, would be great for a cabin

KVR, good find. I like how it is a relatively inexpensive version of an outside wood boiler. My question with these has always been why waste the ambient heat from the stove? I can see the benefit if you have no location for a wood stove but keeping it inside the house means you get the benefit from all of the heat the stove is putting out.

agreed, plus I love seeing a fire, I wonder if these help with insurance at all

I bet it does help. Outdoor boilers are very common out here -- I think it is because people hooked them up to their already existing heating/cooling ducting. If you don't have that ducting in place then this product makes some more sense. I think I would rather just install the wood stove in my house if I had the room.
