just a matter of time before this spreads

Fine particles from wood-burning devices are one of the biggest health threats to Bay Area residents during the winter season, according to the air quality board. The new rules bans any wood-burning device in new construction starting in the fall of 2016.

...I know a number of areas have banned or restricted the outdoor wood boilers...here they have some set back rules.  I don't think that some municipalities get that rural/agricultural area folks heat with wood to save $$...oil and propane can be/are pricey.

Started with new constructions and some days when there was more smog risk they would prohibit wood fires. Now i think that within the city of montreal even the ones that already had wood burning fireplaces or stoves will have to replace them.
