Ok, sorry been super busy. Have a baby at home and 2 businesses that I am trying to run simultaneously while watching a 6-month old at the same time. Here are some answers:
I got started when I was a General Contractor building houses. I saw that every sub-contractor that I had either had a diesel truck or diesel equipment. Idea$$ So I thought I would make biodiesel and sell it to my subs. In MO its hard to sell biodiesel there is a lot of red tape and paperwork, so I decided to just build one myself and make biodiesel for myself. Someone saw it and wanted to buy it. The rest is history. Building a machine is easy, making an instruction manual is the hard part. Biodiesel is pretty straight forward once you get it but there is a learning curve for sure.
Cold weather tolerance is the #1 concern with biodiesel. How do you deal with it? Blend with petroleum-based diesel, have a heat exchanger and warm up the biodiesel, or mix it with anti-gel additives. All work but it just depends on if your vehicle is stored outside and the daytime temperature etc.
I will make a diligent effort to come here more often. Ask away.
Thanks, Jeremy
