Electric Cars Could Wreak Havoc on Oil Markets Within a Decade | Alternative Energy | Forums

...economic transition can be painful...as alternative energy production increases and the demand for oil flattens/declines there is going to be some painful times in big oil.  We know fossil fuels are limited...so this is a natural evolution of market shift.  We have a college here that has 2 and 4 yr degree programs for solar/wind/hydro engineering and construction...it's a growth area here.

That program here is cool...they actually run a business as part of the program where the students and professors/engineers go out and: assess, design, hands on build/install and get paid...A to Z; love that.

Very cool program...the cool thing is you can sign up and go for the 2 yr degree and if you want to you can then choose to stay and get the 4 yr...very flexible. 

...and electric lights put the whale oil business out of commission...

I know a few years ago it was like low 90's working in the field with in 3 months.  I think the hands on design and building is a powerful mix.
