Germany is #1 in the World for Energy Efficiency, according to the 2014 scorecard released by the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) today. Sixteen nations were studied. Six of the top 10 were from Europe. Canada was the only North American nation to make the cut, placing 9th.

pretty crazy all the stuff they do for efficiency, for example, installing servers in homes so they can use the heating given off from them

They are big on efficiency...always have been.   They are leaders for masonry construction there (I think Ireland too, then again they don't really have timber there)
