Not to slow you down but a wind turbine to produce as much power as you are looking to produce would cost a lot of money, be very large, and most likely need a large pole mount for stability/vibration reasons. I have looked at wind greatly and with the cheaper cost of solar now (this point is moot if the solar panels will cost a lot there) you can produce more power from solar panels that don't have moving parts and are easier to mount. If you have ~7 hours of good sun a day that is still significant.
Whichever solution you go with you will need a battery bank to provide your power needs in case the sun isn't shining or the wind isn't blowing.
can't find the one I am looking for,but here is a simple one

i'm happy to make a hybrid system and i was expecting that if i purchased a kit it would run approx 10k usd to run my household. figuring that once i am more familiar with the mechanics of the whole thing i would be able to build my own for roughly half that. keep in mind that any technology like solar will cost me a 300% duty to bring into the country. also, we get baked by the sun all day here yes, but living right on the beach we also have steady 10kmph winds at sea level, up on my homestead i'm expecting to have the wind turbine up 100'

hey kvr i saw some wind turbines that were literally like 30' tall and i'm not talking about the pole mount. the actual fan itself was 30' tall and designed to take advantage of winds from any direction.
porkchops, you're from michigan? small world, i was born there and lived in st joe on lake michigan for a few years although i don't really advertise that much haha.

If you want to build a big one check out this guys wind turbine build. He runs these turbines and solar in northern Wisconsin under very adverse conditions in the winter. He is very quick to respond to messages and is very helpful FYI. If I could find a cheap Rohm self supporting tower in the 80 feet + range I would be giving his build a try.
