..and I've contacted a local company for a quote on a med-lg DIY cottage kit. But I'm curious, are there any companies/brands with superb reputations that would be worth shipping to our neck of Canada?

Where are you guys located?

When you find your stuff I'd be interested to know where you got it from.

pork likes a guy in michigan, I'm wondering if shipping to Canada would not make it worth it though

The local one is http://www.haliburto.....dwind.com/ and that's where we are, in the wild outside Haliburton, Ontario Canada. Well pump was 300 duty so I figure this would be twice, if we're looking at spending 4k or so.. don't need a huge package.

Nice, does the Canadian govt offer tax incentives for alternative energy?

I've heard yes and I've heard no re:tax incentives, still have to look into it myself.

We almost ended up beside Bancroft, lots of off-gridders in that area. We've yet to meet one in our neighborhood.
