My precious little kiwi grew about two feet this year. I'd take some pictures but the darn thing is under the snow already, and what is out is scraggly looking!

I think most would grow a lot faster, they are in a tough spot at my place in compressed and sandy soil. I think you could totally use a kiwi for this application. The chickens might even take to eating some of the kiwi and you'd keep your costs down.
