How is it on heat loss and any security issues with them?

Security is no problem because my six dogs are my security! Heat loss is another matter. But mine is old and the rubber flap that seals is missing. When it was new it was quite efficient.

I had one that opened to the kitchen. Raccoons and neighborhood cats would come in.

Not good.

lol, that would make for a big surprise, reminds of the time a ground hog made it's way through a basement window and worked it's way up our cellar steps and decided to hang out in our bedroom closet, those things are mean when cornered

The damn cats would skeet all over the cabinets, and the raccoons would climb on the pot racks and knock all kinds of shit over.

This was before the key-coded RF collars.
