I have noticed eggs have been eaten over the last couple weeks, I kind of wanted to keep these 4 going until this years chickens start laying, but with feed prices, I'm not to keen of giving these guys a free ride till August

yes, and when one starts if you don't cull it from the flock fast enough the others can learn to do it, i'm gonna have to start checking for eggs 3 times a day to try and stop it

They may be wanting something in their craw (sp?). We toss some creek gravel in the park every week or two. Ground up oyster shells work too but since I ain't raising oysters anytime soon....gravel it is. From what grandpaw told me chickens need something like this in their craw to break up what they eat so they digeat it better. I'm not sayin thats the problem with the egg picking but may be worth a try.

we've been giving them oyster shells, I saw some plans for a oyster shell feeder so they could take what they needed instead of mixing it with their feed, if the weather holds out this weekend, I want to get that put up
