Thank you, this is good info. Unfortunately, I have come to the conclusion that we don't have a) enough livestock for a real LGD and b) we don't have the the right, or any, fencing right now. I am all about an LGD but I think we have to get goats first, which is on my radar for next Spring. I would fence in some wooded areas and let the goats take it all down.

Our last dog was outside all of the time and just too bored -- not enough to do. That's why I am thinking a smaller house dog for now -- so it can interact with us and not be so bored, which led to destruction.
