Had to put down a year old hen today...very sad situation and so odd. She somehow busted a heat light which burnt the feathers off her back but evidently also ran the current down through her feet. I don't know how she survived being electrocuted, because thats basically what must have happened. Anyway, it destroyed her poor legs. I feel sick over the fact she must have been in pain. Although she appeared to not be feeling anything.

If she'd had a chance of recovering, I would have worked with her., but her legs literally were burnt black. I'll be a long time getting this out of my mind. And I thought we had things set up safely...just sad... feeling like a big fat farmer failure today...

holy crap, I'm sorry to hear that HFF, you did the right thing. Don't beat yourself up to much, there are some times where things are just out of your area of control.

Oh I'm sorry to hear that. I know how you feel about your animals. I feel the same. I want them all to be safe and healthy and I hate it when something happens to cause them pain
