Hey everyone,
I have a chicken that wont leave the nesting box. she stays on top of the eggs all the time. She is not happy with me when i try and take them. There seems to be a lot of conflict between her and the others. She pulled all her feathers off her stomach area. The other chickens also peck her while she is doing this and she retaliates.
Any ideas as to what is going on?
can i break her of this and make her happy to chase bugs like her sisters again?
thanks

lon23you got a broody hen, She basically just wants to hatch the eggs. We had one that went broody and we just made sure to get the eggs out as soon as they were laid, That took care of it. Some people will separate them in a separate cage with no bedding for a couple days to break them of it.
you also could try building some roll out nesting boxes, remove the eggs and remove the temptation
