My cow has mastitus in back 2 quarters. Does anyone know how to get rid of it. Been milking her since Feb.

How long has she had it? Is she feeding or running a fever? Can you get antibiotics at local farm store? @Horse-Fork-Farm might have some suggestions

We have learned a lot but it has come at a cost! Lil Red had her baby Jan. 10. We didn't milk her right away because we just left the baby bull in with her. WELL.... less than 2 weeks after the baby was born I realized that the back 2 quarters were red and hard. Come to find out we didn't realize that Lil Bull WASN'T nursing at all off the back 2 quarters ONLY the 2 front quarters. We treated with today over and over again. Then we had to buy these heavy duty antibiotic shots at $40 a shot from the vet. We finally after a month got it cleared up. We have been milking her twice daily and everything has been going fine. All of a sudden out of the blue when we tested her udder the back 2 quarters had mastitus again. Honestly, we just feed the back 2 quarters to the pigs and dogs. The front 2 quarters are fine. She is doing fine and we have been doing this the past 2 months. I would like to get the back 2 quarters healed up again so we can use that milk also. Strange thing is the back 2 quarters aren't giving that much milk at all. Front 2 quarters we get a gallon each milking. Thanks.
