OK, so I have the chickens in the new coop and the temperature has been down well into the teens at night here. Once or twice, I've missed getting an egg or two in the evening. The next morning when I go in, I find the eggs frozen and sometimes the shell has a small crack.

Are the eggs bad at this point? I haven't eaten any, but we've put them in the fridge in a separate container to see what happens. Has anyone tried to thaw them out in the fridge and consume them or should they just get thrown out?

OK, cool. Thanks! I checked backyardchickens.com and everyone was saying that they were ruined. I wasn't sure that was exactly right.

lol

freezing changes the texture so they wouldn't be good for over easy, scrambling should be fine

my only concern is if the eggs are cracked though and the potential for fecal matter contaminating the egg, if they are cracked, I would chuck em, if shell intact, keep em
