So ...Goats.
What do they need for shelter in a northern winter?...A relatively draft free shed/barn with straw and a light bulb?
Good weather...the plan would be to keep them in a paddock most of the time...but take them to areas that need weed control where I would pound in a post and give them a 30 Ft lead and a 5 gal pal of water and check on them in a few hours....would that work out?
Here is what @mainelybjj uses up here in Maine

Ive pretty much had to table my goat dreams for the moment.
Im thinking about building a new coop for the chickens and adding some space for ducks as well. I'll take my current 4x8 coop and get it onto a trailer and use electronet fencing to do some pasture rotation with them during spring/summer/fall. Then possibly doing some quail in cages as well.
Still wish I could get some goats though. Damn, those little gifs are killing me!

So chickens on one side and a couple of goats on the other...nice.
I figure I won't get to build a chicken coop til I get the house finished...and I can always put a few chickens and couple of goats in the back of the barn...once I clean that part of the barn out...screw it...just quicker to build something.
