Finally! We have visual confirmation of pigs breeding just yesterday. About time! If it takes, should have a litter October 16th. These will be purebred LBH's but not registered. I have no proof but believe the other gilt is already bred for mid August...
The following users say thank you to Horse-Fork-Farm for this useful post:
jonathcoAre his ears covering most of his field of vision? All mine spook easily if you walk where they can't see you well. Once they know you they want petted and scratched. They're very smart, ours are used to the sounds each person makes and will identify you by that. I think we're going to put this big Hampshire in the freezer soon, she has been bred several times and never ends up pregnant. Can't afford to keep her if she can't be bred. She will make some killer hams.
Hmmm... maybe he just wasn't fooled with much. Like you said, I'm sure you will win him over with scratches and donuts and rubs and donuts and....lol. We gave the pigs creek access this week, thinking they'd go down there where its cooler. But no, they still prefer their muddy, soupy quicksand mess. They start at one end and slide through it with just their noses out like alligators. Its about 2 feet deep!
