These are sex linked Amberlinks. Basically a commercial breeder crossed a few different breeds (which is usually proprietary) to create them. Supposedly good foragers, layers, etc. I have fed them a few ticks I have found and they ate them right up -- so that is good.

I found a 1 year old Buff Orphington rooster for $8. Thinking of adding him to the mix for protection for the girls and future offspring but I am unsure of when I could introduce him to the chicks -- he may try to get freaky with them way too early.

So I moved the coop outside tonight. No run attached yet but it is pretty hardened. We'll see if the dog keeps any critters away... or tries to get in the coop herself. What a great time to not be able to find my Fenix 337 lumen flashlight that would actually let me see the coop from the house. Bummer

They lived! I put 50 rounds through my 22 rifle with the suppressor getting ready to rock some small critters. Took 50 rounds to sight in my cheap scope... didn't need it last night. May need it in the future.

Awesome. Good deal, Pork! I moved my chickens outside (permanently) this morning. They're in the coop for the day and then I'll let them out into the tractor when I get home. Hopefully they'll remember to go back up into the coop at bedtime and I wont have to shoo them up there. As soon as I took the dog out she made a bee-line for the tractor, so still have to work on that.

Good to hear you got the tractor going. I need to finish the attached run on the coop so they can chill outside and dig at the ground. Right now they are just stuck in the coop.
