OK, so our chicks have arrived. One of them has a lame leg. It is splayed out to the side and it seems to be struggling to walk (hop) on it's one good foot. Does anyone have any experience with this? I'm wondering if it will figure out how to compensate and move around or if it just wont make it. I ordered three chicks and they sent me four, so since I still break even I dont think I'll call the company and complain or ask for replacement. I'm just wondering people's opinion if the chick might make it or not.
Will post pics of the little peeps later when I get home from work.
Thanks.
that sucks groin, I agree with moro, hopefully you can find a answer there, I guess that cartoon was pretty accurate

Backyard chickens lead me to this site. this should be the problem and it's solution. Seems to be a common ailment. Wish me luck!

Oh well, RIP Boo-Boo Chicken I. She didn't make it. I don't know if it was stress or exhaustion or starvation but after dinner we checked on them and she was dead. My son was crushed but he's getting over it. The rest of the chicks are happy so I'm thankful to have a day old flock with 3 healthy birds.
