Hey, they were good. Happy and running around and pecking each other. The tough part is tearing my boy away from the brooder. He would sit there all day and night if we let him.

Oh well, RIP Boo-Boo Chicken I. She didn't make it. I don't know if it was stress or exhaustion or starvation but after dinner we checked on them and she was dead. My son was crushed but he's getting over it. The rest of the chicks are happy so I'm thankful to have a day old flock with 3 healthy birds.[/

I always feel sad when they don't make it.

I'm experiencing something new to me.

We have an agoraphobic hen. She hates being outside. We take her to water and she drinks. She eats well. She just doesn't want to go out.

So today I took her out and left her out for the day.

When I went down this evening, she was hiding under the deck!

Next time you have a chick with this problem it can usually be fixed by taping in a certain way. Let me see if I can find a pic of what I mean. Its caused by letting chicks try to stand on a slick surface and most people call it splay legs. Usually affects both legs... BRB with a pic when IT find one. :-)
