Is it just me or does it seem it's more about the guys bucket list than the dog's? When my best friend was dying the last thing I thought of was taking him on a 12,000 mile trip.
In February, vets told Thomas Neil Rodriguez that his 15-year-old mixed-breed dog, Poh, had multiple health issues and that his days were numbered, news.com.au reported. So the New York City-area man and his fiancée set off on a cross-country tour to check off his bucket list during what little time the canine has left.
Chronicling their 35-city, 12,000-mile road trip on Instagram, the trio snapped photos in front of the Washington Monument in Washington D.C., the Hollywood Sign in California, and on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, among other well-known U.S. destinations. In many of the photos, Poh is pictured sitting or lying down in a green travel buggy.
According to media reports, Rodriguez adopted the canine from a shelter in 1999 when Poh was only eight weeks old.
“I’m always travelling, but Poh is my home, my child. I am super blessed that I have actually gotten to do this,” Rodriguez told ABC News. “People think I take care of Poh, but Poh takes care of me.”
