I found a killer deal on 3 Large Black Hog piglets last week. The guy let me have 3 for the price of 1 because he didn't have adequate fencing. Got 3 for $100.! Super calm little guys, I think we're going to like the breed a lot.
Found out it's going to be late December before our big hogs can be processed and man they are huge already. Glad they're friendly! Need to weigh tape them again but the big one is already around 400#.
The large Black is critically endangered so I feel good about breeding them. Now I have to find some gilts. Anybody in my area have any for sale???

I'm jealous, have heard great things about the blacks, very interested in hearing your experience, I will make a post on our facebook page to see if anyone has what you are looking for. If you do end up breeding them, I might be interested in purchasing

That would be awesome! We are definitely breeding ASAP. Probably at least 6 months down the road. Did you get your pigs processed yet? How much pork did you get???

yeah, got em back yesterday, 146 pounds for ours, not sure what the other 2 got
