My dad wants a new dog.
Something that can handle the cold and the warm months, easy to train, and good with older people.

The only downside to a hunting dog is they have a tendency to wander. They pick up scents here and there and they just cant help but follow it.

There is about 15 acres. Parents just arent as active as they used to be. I dont know what else to say. I guess really just looking for a good, well behaved, companion dog.

Word on the street is that mixed breeds generally make the best pets.
Stay away from Terriers.

I love my gsd, she is in the banner up above stalking the pigs, unfortunately we found out she has a heart issue when we tried having her fixed, her heart went crazy when they tried putting her under, vet said she could live a long life or it could be a concern, we just have to monitor it, she is a great dog overall, she loves to hug people, I've never seen such a thing, she will actually come up to you when you get home and wrap her front legs around your leg and rest her head against your thigh
