This particular cow we didn't think was bred actually turned out to be the first to be bred and there fore the first to calf.... this morning. We only realized she was bred in the last few weeks in fact. She had been in with a very young bull and he managed to get her bred despite their size differences. Amazing! Anyway we checked her at 4 am because we heard coyotes and sometime between 4 and 8 she did the deed with no help at all. Eric went up at 8 to check her abd there stood a wet and wobbly little gal! I feel thrilled! Matt named her Glory.
KVR.....Uuummmm.... Im not sure how many. Three horses, 3 cows, a calf, 6 sows, 1 boar, 2 small boars, "about" 50-75 chickens. Sold the turkeys. It varies month to month due to piglets being born and then being sold. Last month I had 25 pigs, this month I have 9. I have 2 litters of piglets due in June and July. I've been selling eggs as fast as I can box them and that has led to people asking me to grow organic chickens to sell. So Im about to wade in on that next. Wish me good luck, I need it!
