that is the question!

So rinkus stopped by the other day and said the broilers are ready for the freezer based on the size he has seen his in laws raise theirs

so these are my 3 options

a butcher 40 minutes away, he is the go to processor in the area and is the top choice, charges 3.00 dollars a bird if I have them halve them

a friend of a friend who is starting a small hobby farm, he built a wizbang chicken plucker and has decided to start processing for others to help cover the 400 dollars it cost to build the plucker, no idea on charge

do it myself and document my success or failure, wife has already said there is no way she is going to help me kill her babies, so I would be solo on this :(

wat do?

I like option 2. Learn how the other guy does it, see his set up, what works/doesn't work, and then do option 3 next year. Hopefully the guy charges very little.

well the deed is done, the guys showed up yesterday and we quickly packed up the birds and they took off with them, the turkeys were very depressed, she sat there all day just staring

around 1 pm they showed up with the birds, I wanted to go and see it being done, but got tied up at work, will go with them when the turkeys are done. The chickens are huge!
