We have always used a heat lamp in our coops which was always a concern for us. No matter how much we secured the lamps, it always seemed like the birds would knock them down. This year is the first year we have gone lamp free since the birds have decided to take up residence under my dads cabin this winter. I decided risking some frost bite on the birds is better than burning down my dads cabin. We have dropped down to 20 below with no issues besides frozen water.

Seems fires have been a issue in CO. and I'm not totally crazy lol
