It's a perspective thing, he's holding it waaaaaaaaay out in front of him to make it look bigger than it is. A lot of guys around here try that hero pose with fish to make them look bigger than they are.

It's still a nice size rattler, and an old one too judging by the amount of rattles on it's tail.

Had no idea that they got that big. Never had to deal with to many snakes living in Western Wa. Lucky me.
